First GIM of the semester discussing the State of Our Union
This event was extremely engaging in that we spoke of America’s current political climate, while speaking on how we as men can better fight current plights to uplift America.

A HUGE shoutout to Rochester City School District Director of Community Engagement, Ricky Frazier, for agreeing to speak. We were fortunate enough to discuss our history, present, and future plans with over 40 attendees for our program slot. We are grateful to share an intimate moment with our audience as we also discussed each others’ fears in today’s society.

Family Science Day was a success! We’d like to thank all who attended and set up the community wide event. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀
It was great demonstrating cymatics, which allows us to visualize sound waves using fluids. We used a simple mixture of corn starch and water, in a 2:1 ratio, and played specific frequencies through a speaker. For given frequencies, you see given patterns. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Welcome Back Social and helped make it a success!
We appreciate the support and hope that you have been touched by our mission to help and mentor not just children in the city, but also each other! Special thanks to Dr. Kevin Graham for a motivating speech, and an amazing opportunity to reflect: "If not us, then who?".

MMLA’s First General Membership Meeting of the semester was a success! Thank you to all who attended “Balancing UR Life”. The event went great and we had great discourse.
We were extremely grateful to have been able to share our life experiences, stories, and journeys making it to the UofR at New Beginnings Academy. Thank you to Principal Watts and Dr. Willis for inviting us, we look forward to seeing you all soon and starting this new partnership.
